Humankind vs civ 64/20/2023 Hopefully this helps get a general picture, but the best thing to do would be to watch some gameplay videos of each and see which looks better for you. While Civ gives you a plethora of historical leaders to choose from, Humankind lets you craft your leader through a character creation process. If you have played other amplitude games like Endless Legend, then there will be some similarities, but there are new innovations. Humankind is perhaps one of the biggest areas where the two games differ. The game is absolutely beautiful and there are some super fun features that you won't get from a Civ game like switching cultures, stacked armies, elevated terrain, tactical battles, war score, etc. I expect that civ7 May in turn borrow some from Humankind. what will be telling is how the game influence each other- there is some clear influence from civ5 and civ6 in humankind and other games. That’s okay, some people will prefer one or the other. Speaking of Humankind if you are looking for something with up to date graphics and innovative features, then I would go with Humankind. They have a different game vision than what Civ traditionally is. Civ VI is complete at this point, while Humankind just came out last week, and while fun has some balance issues/not fully developed features you would expect from a vanilla 4x game. Humankind looks an awful lot like recent Civilization games. I would also go Civ VI if you want a complete game. ![]() There are a lot of things different from V to VI, mainly separating out many of your buildings into specialty districts, but it still is a Civ game, so there will be several items like generally how the yields work, how to win certain victory conditions, etc. Summary: HUMANKIND is a Historical Strategy game where YOU will re-write the entire narrative of humankind a convergence of culture, history, and values that allows you to create a civilization that is as unique as you are. If you are looking for something new, but generally something of the same formula of Civ V, then go with Civ VI. Mixed or average reviews based on 144 Ratings. The most immediate distinction between them is that rather than choosing one civilisation to roleplay and distort until the nuclear apocalypse, Humankind lets you gradually Frankenstein your own. It is really hard to say without knowing what you like most about Civ V, but I can give it a go.
